In 1982, John Carpenter with Universal's blessing, released a film loosely based on the original film, "The thing from another world"( according to this website, This version is also considered a more faithful adaptation of John W. Campbell's sci-fi novella, "Who Goes there"). Unlike the two aforementioned titles, Carpenter's film ramped up the paranoia and feeling of isolation, while taking the science fiction to the stratosphere with gruesome practical effect that still hold up even now.
This Week, Michael and I talk about the film, and what we thought of it. This being his first time seeing the movie really turned out to be an interesting experience, and hopefully it brought a lot of new perspective to the table.
