Half Price books sells console games now?

So last thusday I wandered into Half Price books to see what they had , and noticed something odd... there were guitar hero guitars sitting at the top of one of the shelves, and next to them was a Gameboy Advance SP and a Gameboy color. Odd...  My eyes had trailed down to find myself confused and amazed... There was a notation that said that this is the section for console games. It's a well known fact to anyone who has known me in person or have talked to me online that I absolutely love hunting for old, obscure or rare games. On my adventures I've found great video games in thrift stores, flea markets and on rare occasion, secondhand computer shops. Every time I do find the occasional NES, PS2, Xbox, Genesis, or any of the other games from my other eight gaming consoles I spare no expense depending on how badly I want it. This was no different.

I found at least three games I wanted, two (Ninja Gaiden Black,  and the Jet Set Radio Future / Sega GT combo pack ) I purchased, and two (Goldeneye N64, Deadly Towers NES) I will definitely be returning for. I just wanted to share that with you, reader. I'm very pleased that my favorite bookstore is now carrying something I love just as much - if not more - than knowledge itself.

  1. Wow, that is peculiar! I wonder if that is a local trait or a new trend.

  2. Yeah, I'm seeing games being sold in bookstores like Borders around me as well. Pretty odd, but hey.
