Looks like someone got a clue.

In an article pinched from Gamesindustry.biz , Sony Senior VP of Europe, Michael Denny says that new IPs are essential for the industry to grow and survive.

congratulations.

You've only just now stated what I'm sure everyone else has pretty much knew from the get-go. I guess someone noticed that the market is pretty saturated with sequels at this point. either that or they noticed there may be more types of games out there than FPS, RPG, RTS, and Sports game genres.

From what's there, Denny seems to be echoing the same issues that Squeenix President Yoichi Wada and Codemaster's Rod Cousens have; which is If there are no new games, or experiences, people are just going to get tired of what's there and leave gaming.

What do I have to say about this, dear reader?

well duh.
